PDP’s Seyi Makinde defeats APC’s Adelabu Penkelemesi in Oyo State 

Seyi Makinde is what winner of Oyo State Governorship election

This is perhaps the most surprising of the results emanating across the country following yesterday’s governorship and state assembly elections as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has emerged victorious.

BlackBox Nigeria reports that Makinde defeated top contender, APC’s Adebayo Adelabu (Penkelemesi) to win the highly contested elections. Things were so bad to the extent that outgoing governor, Abiola Ajimobi lost his ward at the polls. PDP won in majority of the 33 Local Government areas in the state including Adelabu’s  Ibadan South-East Local Government to claim victory.

It would be recalled that Ajimobi lost his senate bid to Kola Balogun of the PDP two weeks ago while Atiku Abubakar also defeated president Muhammadu Buhari in the state.

Observers have started attributing Adelabu’s loss to the arrogance of the outgoing governor whose numerous crisis might have spelled doom for his party. Others believe the last minute accord of top Ibadan politicians led by former governor, Rashidi Ladoja actually sealed Seyi Makinde’s victory.
