Pandemonium In Abule-Egba As Pipeline Explosion Rocks Community Again

There is a raging outbreak of fire at the Nigerian National Petroleum corporation (NNPC) in the Oke-Odo area of Abule-Egba, Lagos State.

It was gathered that the suspected cause of the fire incident was due to the activities of vandals, who allegedly ruptured the pipeline in a bid to steal fuel.

Several properties were said to have been consumed, though the estimated values of the properties burnt in the fire couldn’t be ascertained..

The Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Oluwafemi Okesanyintolu, who confirmed the incident said, “There is a fire incident at One oke- Odo. We are already coordinating”.
Also, the Director-Generwl, Lagos State fire service Magret Adeseye, said three fire services stations had been deployed in the area to curtail the fire, adding that no casualty had been recorded.

Recall that similar event happened at Abule-Egba on the 26, December 2006 killing hundreds of people . There were originally believed to be around 500 deaths, but it was later confirmed that the loss was smaller.
