Voting was briefly disrupted on Saturday at the polling unit of former Osun State Governor and ex-Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, in Ilesa, after suspected thugs allegedly invaded the area.
The incident caused panic, forcing some voters to leave as the process was temporarily halted during the Osun governorship election.
Some party agents alleged the attackers were APC supporters, but APC agent Mrs Abogunloko Olufunke denied this, saying, “Those thugs are not our members. I don’t know them.”
The identities of the suspects remain unknown, and it is unclear if arrests were made or if security operatives intervened.
The disruption has raised fresh concerns about voter safety and election security in the area.
