One Student Killed As Students Protest Poor Power Supply In Federal University of Oye Ekiti, FUOYE

At least one student has been shot dead and many injured as Students of the Federal University of Oye Ekiti, FUOYE, protest the epileptic power supply in the citadel of learning.

The protest which took place yesterday, September 10, 2019, was initially peaceful but became rowdy when men of the Nigeria police force killed one Oluwaseyi Kehinde, a 100 level student of the institution.

Following the protest, BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the Federal University of Oye Ekiti had been shut down indefinitely, and the activities of the Student Union proscribed.

A student of the University who posted on her Facebook page said students have been warned to vacate the university premises till peace is restored

Even though not confirmed, it was gathered that the wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs Bisi Fayemi was allegedly attacked during the protest while on tour to some council within the state.

The police have however denied the killing of the student.
