Old People Protest Appointment of 27-Year and Old As Commissioner In Oyo State

In a sudden twist of fate, old people in Oyo State today staged a peaceful protest rejecting the appointment of 27-year-old graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Seun Fakorede, as a commissioner by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.

The senior citizens protesting at the Governor’s office claimed the civil engineering graduate from the OAU is member of All Progressives Congress thus, not deserving of the nomination/appointment.

According to a Twitter post by @patriotawaking the senior citizens carried placards reading, ” G.S.M. Ibarapa Central and North Rejects APC Nominee Segun Fakorede”, “G.S.M Don’t Allow APC Destabilise Your Government”.

Another placard spotted by BlackBox Nigeria reads, ” G.S.M Those Who Voted Against You Can Never Be Your Friend”.

However, earlier today, the Commissioner nominee tweeted his appreciation to Nigerians saying he has been overwhelmed since the announcement.

“GRATITUDE — This is to express my gratitude to Nigerians, especially the Youth, for the outpour of love and best wishes since my nomination as Commissioner was announced.

I’m grateful. I’ve been overwhelmed since the announcement. “
