Popular Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo is dead, TVC News confirmed the development in a report.
The actor reportedly passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at a hospital in Lagos after complications from an illness. He was 40 years old.
News of his death has thrown the Nigerian entertainment industry into mourning, with fans and colleagues expressing shock and sadness across social media platforms.
Ekubo had been noticeably absent from social media for months, sparking concern among fans. His last Instagram post was shared on December 30, 2024.
Known for his charisma and acting talent, Alexx Ekubo built a successful career in Nollywood, featuring in numerous movies and earning admiration from fans across the country.
He was also known for his close friendship with fellow actor IK Ogbonna.
The late actor made headlines in 2021 after his former fiancée, Fancy Acholonu, called off their engagement and planned wedding. The breakup attracted widespread attention within and outside the entertainment industry.
