DCP Olatunji Disu, a Nigerian police officer and veteran Judoka, has brought honor to his country after winning a silver medal at the 33rd edition of the United States Open Judo Championship.

Despite his hectic schedule, the super-cop who replaced embattled DCP Abba Kyari as head of the renowned crime-fighting division, Intelligence Response Team (IRT), has been an avid Judoka for many years.

At the US Judo Championships held from July 28 to July 31, the 56-year-old competed in the veteran category and displayed his Judo prowess as he fought off stern competition from other Judokas, including world number one, Woods Glen of the United States.

It would be recalled that Disu chaired the NPF Judo Association in November 2021, where he won gold at the first veteran championships organized by the Nigeria Police Force.
