A Nigerian man, Anjola Olupitan has etched his name in history breaking the Guinness record for the Fastest 10m Walk on Hands with Legs Behind the Head.
Olupitan, who hails from Ibadan, Oyo State, completed the distance in an impressive 12.52 seconds.
The record-breaking attempt took place on February 24 at the Lekan Salami Stadium tennis court in Ibadan, Oyo State.
He surpassed the previous record by more than 10 seconds, which was set at 25.55 seconds by Bonetics Art in 2023.
The Guinness World Record confirmed the feat on its X account on Thursday.
“New record: Fastest 10m walking on hands with legs behind the head – 12.52 seconds by Anjola Olupitan,” it wrote.
Announcing his triumph on social media, Olupitan shared his elation, stating, “Dreams do come true! Thrilled to officially announce that I’m the Guinness World Record holder.” He expressed heartfelt appreciation to his supporters, including Oyo State’s executive adviser on youth and sports, for their unwavering support throughout his journey.
His achievement aligns him with notable Nigerians who have shown exceptional talent and determination on the global platform of Guinness World Records. These individuals include Helen Williams (longest and widest wig), Ewa Cole (longest marathon singing Christmas songs), Clara Chizoba Kronborg (longest interviewing marathon), Tonye Solomon (most steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a football on the head), and Hilda Bacci (longest cooking marathon).
