By Earlier in the week, the anticipated Nollywood movie Glamour Girls was released on Netflix. The film, written by Kemi Adesoye, directed by Bunmi Ajakaiye, and produced Play Network Studios’ Abimbola Craig, is a remake of the 1994 classic with the same title.
Like the original movie, the remake tells the story of a group of ambitious women — four in number — willing to risk it all to have a bite of the glamorous life in the sprawling city of Lagos.
Judging by its star-studded lineup, film lovers had high expectations from ‘Glamour Girls’. However, the movie appears to have dashed their hopes, following the flurry of criticisms it has garnered in the last two days.
Taking to popular microblogging platform Twitter, Nigerians have expressed their displeasure in the project, citing its poor storytelling and screenplay.
