NECO releases the 2022 SSCE result, Records Low Level of Malpractices

The National Examinations Council has announced the release of the 2022 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination results.

This was made known by the NECO Registrar, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, who announced the results on Thursday at the NECO Headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

The number of candidates that registered for the Examinations was 1, 209, 703, and 1, 198, 412 sat for the examination.

Also, the number of candidates who got five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics are 727, 864 representing 60.74 per cent.

Meanwhile, the number of candidates with special needs are 1,031, people with albinism standing at 98, 177 people with autism, 574 with hearing impairments while 107 are visually impaired.

However, the council recorded a decline in malpractice in the 2022 internal senior school certificate examinations as against other year.

“In the area of malpractices, 13, 595 were caught as against 20,003 in the year 2021, which showed an appreciable decline in the number of malpractice cases.”

“Twenty-nine supervisors were blacklisted for various offences ranging from poor supervision, insult, aiding and abetting during the examinations”.

Danitani said four schools were recommended for derecognition for two years over consistent malpractices and 29 supervisors were blacklisted for their alleged involvement in various malpractice offences.
