Mushin/Odi Olowo Ojuwoye Agog As 2nd Ghetto Light FC Awards Takes Centre Stage
Mushin and Odi Olowo Ojuwoye stood at a stand still as Ghetto Light FC hosted the 2nd edition of her annual awards ceremony in Mushin on Sunday afternoon.
The much anticipated award ceremony started at exactly 1:45pm with the opening prayer by the Honorable Personal Assistant to the Vice Chairman Of Odi Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA Mr. Akpan Bassey
The programme immediately moves to the introduction of guests, The chairman of the LCDA ably represented by his principal Admin And HR officer, Mr. Lukmon Ilori, Vice Chairman of Odi Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Seyi Jakande, CEO of Glass Expert and merchandizing, Hon. Toyin Aremu, CEO of Baqit Solutions Mr. Badru abdulbaqi ably represented by Mr. Muhammad Jamiu, CEO BBN360 Media Ltd, Mr. Sanni Suliamon ably represented by Mr. Kunle Shobo, CEO Najovinco Enterprises, Mr Nojeem Babatunde were all invited to the high table.
Without wasting much time the Team Manager/Head Coach of the team Azeez Mustapha gave a breakdown of year 2020’s club activities and highlighted the high points and low points of the football club in the year under review.
After the feedback session the Team Manager explained the system of choosing the best player of the year.
8 fans who also train with the team and regarded as legends casted votes for their preferred nominees. As well as the 10 captains and assistants of the 5 different categories.
The Vice Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Seyi Jakande in his words admonises the players to continue to be good ambassadors of the local council.
He also urged youths in the local council generally to tap into the opportunity presented by the Odi Olowo Ojuwoye Talent Hunt that was recently Launched by the LCDA.
The representative of the chairman of the LCDA, Mr. Lukmon Ilori reminders the winners of the awards that all players in their category made it possible for them to win the award. And they should always be reminded of that the team comes first.
He also went down memory lane to educate the players on what accounted for the decline of Legendary Striker Rashid Yekini of blessed memory and how his teammates conspired against him and cut the supply channel.
The Public Relation Officer of the Mushin Football Coach Council, Coach Balogun Babatunde advicsed the players not to allowed the wooden plaques get into their heads as it is not the African football of the year award nor is it the world footballer of the year award.
He also reminded them that the prince Gas Cup and Mushin Christmas Cup are now world Cup and Champions league trophies respectively, so it is very important that their eyes are fixated on the main prize.
The Awards presentation ceremony proper ended at exactly 3:15pm and the floor was open for refreshment and the sound of music.
