Novak Djokovic Out Again As Serbia Are Beaten By Bruno Soares And Marcelo Melo Of Brazil

Brazil’s doubles team of Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares delivered another crushing blow to Novak Djokovic, eliminating the Serbian no.1 and partner Nenad Zimonjic from the tennis men’s doubles of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Djokovic was dumped out of the first round of the singles to Argentine Juan Martin del Potro yesterday, but at least then he could count on the support of the crowd.

Tonight the support was all for Melo and Soares who pumped fists and celebrated every point as if it were a goal.

The 6-4 6-4 defeat was the second elimination in less than a week for Djokovic. The question now remains whether he will play in the mixed doubles or end his participation in Rio 2016 Olympic Games prematurely. The Serbian has clearly been enjoying his time in Rio.
Melo and Soares, who are building some serious momentum in their quest for Olympic gold, will face the Romanian pair of Florin Mergea and Horia Tecau in the quarter-finals.
