The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the apprehension of a 36-year-old man, Jaafar Adamu, who stands accused of raping his neighbor’s wife in the Hong Local Government Area of the state.
In an official statement released by SP Suleiman Yahaya-Nguroje, the command’s spokesperson, this alarming incident came to light.
SP Yahaya-Nguroje said the arrest of the suspect took place on September 15, sending shockwaves through the community.
The assailant had concealed his identity by wearing a face mask during the horrifying attack on the 23-year-old wife of his neighbor in Angwan Diocese Kala’a, located in Hong town.
However, according to the statement, during the assault, the assailant’s face mask slipped off, allowing the victim to recognize her attacker.
Despite his desperate escape attempt, law enforcement managed to apprehend the suspect.
As the investigation into this distressing incident unfolds, the police said they are committed to ensuring that justice is served, adding that Jaafar Adamu will face prosecution for his alleged actions.
