Man receives shocking list from late landlord’s family as contribution towards burial

A Nigerian man has been left bewildered after receiving a list from his dead landlord’s family as part of his contribution towards the late man’s burial expenses.
While details about the source of the list remain sketchy, the list as gathered by BlackBox Nigeria shows an outrageous line of items demanded from the tenant as a contribution for his landlord’s funeral ceremony which will take place in the east.
The incident has sparked outrage and raised questions about the appropriateness of such requests during times of economic hardship the country is facing.
The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was taken aback when he received the unexpected list from the family of his deceased landlord.
According to the list, included demands for monetary contributions, food items, drinks, and other essentials deemed necessary for the burial ceremony, has left many scratching their heads in disbelief.
“I am writing to let you know that your landlord (name unknown) who passed away on 13th November,2023 will be buried later this month on 30th March 2024. I am aware that you may not be able to attend the ceremony in the east but we demand your contributions towards his burial”, the letter reads.
The following are the outrageous list demanded from a tenant for the burial of his landlord’s funeral:
1 bottle of Schnapps and #5000 for opening prayer, One big goat, 5 packs of Heineken beer, 5 cartons of beer, Palm wine, Igbo kolanut (16), Cash contribution of one hundred and fifty thousand naira (#150,000)
“Thank you for your cooperation. Looking forward to hearing from you”, the information added.
