The last may not have been heard of the popular Nigerian music legend and reggae king Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly called Majek Fashek who died on June 1, 2020, in a hospital in New York.
While the media is making efforts to celebrate the music icon and design his obituary, there has been a difference in his age and time of death.
While sniffing through the internet, BlackBox Nigeria gathered that Wikipedia, Channels, TheNation Newspaper and other online platforms are quoting contradictory age for the reggae king.
According to TheNations Newspaper online, one of the most read newspapers in Nigeria, the “Send Down the Rain” crooner, died at age 57 ’in a hospital in New York on Monday, June 1. Our sources are yet to confirm the cause of his death, ’ TheNation online wrote while announcing today.
On the contrary, multiple award-winning television station Channels TV wrote,’Before the announcement of his death, Fashek has had a long-running battle with his health. In November 2019, he was hospitalised at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, London. He was 71,’ at the time of his death.
