In the afternoon hours of April 23, 2024, Lead British School was shut down by authorities for three days following the surfaced video depicting Maryam Hassan bullying her schoolmate Namitira Bwala.
Mrs. Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs in Nigeria,has intervened in the issue after the video went viral online this morning.
Lead British School has convened meetings with teachers and parents to address the issue.
A X user @Peteribeabuchi writes in his comment that “Every child involved should be expelled, no exceptions. The school should pay a heavy fine and therapy for the young lady. Every teacher should be given stronger authority on how to handle the students, more severe punishment for any child found bullying others”.
