LASU’s Danmole, daughter of late Ogbomosho monarch, is dead

The town of Ogbomosho in Oyo State has again been thrown into mourning barely a month after its monarch, Oba Jimoh Oyewunmi joined his ancestors.

Bolanle Danmole, the eldest daughter of the Soun of Ogbomosho, has been confirmed dead following a brief illness.

The deceased, a professor of education at the Lagos State University (LASU), was reported to have passed on at the age of 71.

Her demise comes days after she retired from active service at LASU to join her husband in Ilorin, Kwara State, where she breathed her last.

The Guild reported that the late academic died on Saturday and would be laid to rest on Sunday, according to Islamic rites.

Danmole, until her death, was married to another university don, Prof Hakeem Danmole, who now works at the Hikmah University, a private tertiary institution in Kwara.

A devout, she was also said to had a brief stint at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) before she transferred her service to LASU where she served before her retirement last year.
