The management of the Lagos State University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a licensed private Network service provider, VDT Communications Limited, on the provision of internet service for the institution.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello signed the document on behalf of the state-owned institution, on Friday.
The agreement seeks to provide internet services for the University’s main Campus in Ojo, Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Ikeja and Epe Campuses respectively.
Welcoming the delegation from VDT Communications Limited led by its Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Abiodun Omoniyi, the Vice-Chancellor briefed the team on the University’s experience in relation to the internet seevice and hoped that the company will deliver excellently on the agreement.
“Our vision of becoming the best University in West Africa will be almost 70% achieved once we have the internet. I’m so happy today and it’s an amazing thing and I know that God has hand in it,” Prof Olatunji-Bello said.
In his remarks, the VDT Communications Limited boss thanked the LASU management for believing in the company and entrusting them with the opportunity.
Also present at the signing ceremony were the Deputy Vice Chancellors (Academic and Administration) Prof. Elias Wahab and Prof. Adenike O. Boyo, the Acting Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel Fanu, the Acting Director, Directorate of Information, Communication, Technology (DICT), Dr. Toyin Enikuomehin, among others.
