LASU lecturer joins editorial board of international science journal

Dr. Abdulazeez Anjorin, a senior lecturer of the Lagos State University, has been appointed as an academic editor on the editorial board of a reputable international journal, PLOS ONE.

Anjorin lectures in the varsity’s Microbiology Department, Faculty of Science.

The university confirmed the development in statement, saying the appointment was contained in a mail sent by Arianne Mae Pulmano on behalf of the PLOS ONE editorial board.

“We are delighted to offer you a position on the PLOS ONE Editorial Board as an Academic Editor! By confirming your information and accepting the Academic Editor position, you also agree to adhere to PLOS’s Code of Conduct for Editorial Board members,” the letter read in part.

Reacting to the appointment, Anjorin expressed his optimism that the development would be beneficial to LASU.

“‘I passionately feel it will have positive influences on worthy manuscripts submitted to PLOS by authors from our Great citadel and Africa as a whole,” he told the institution’s Centre for Information Press and Public Relations.

PLOS ONE is peer reviewed scientific journal with a rigorous editorial screening and assessment process made up of several stages and belongs to the first quartile (Q1) of SJR ranked journals with a good IF.

LASU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello has congratulated the lecturer, the Dean and entire faculty of Science on the feat, noting that the appointment further lends credence to the quality of academic and non-academic staff of the university.
