Lagos youth commissioner, Dawodu, others grace maiden Lagos Youth Awards

The prestigious Sheraton Hotel in Lagos played host to a gathering of big names at the debut edition of the Lagos Youth Awards held on Sunday, Boxing Day.

The COVID-19 compliant event was witnessed by an array of dignitaries such as nominees, members of the political class, industry bigwigs, among others.

The Commissioner for Youth and Social Development in Lagos State, Mr. Segun Dawodu was among those who graced the occasion which celebrated no fewer than 15 exemplary young people in the centre of excellence drawn from different fields of endeavour.

Dawodu, in his succinct remarks, lauded the organizers, BBN360 for deeming it fit to reward and promote the culture of excellence among young people.

The Commissioner also presented awards to the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe who won the ‘Most Outstanding Young Person in Governance’ category, and the pioneer of Real Acts of Kindness (RAK) Development Foundation, Mobolaji Ogunlende who emerged the ‘Young Person of the Year’.

The event also featured a guest lecture by the first female Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, Dr Azeezat Yishawu who spoke on the topic, “Youth Inclusiveness: The time is now”
