After 18 years of service to Lagos State and its communities, Caxton-Martins Adebola, ex-vice president LASU student’s union is now fighting for her own life.
Adebola, who works with the Lagos State Social Worker department, has been diagnosed with End-Stage Kidney Disease and doctors have recommended an urgent kidney transplant, according to a “Save A Life” appeal page.
“Today she faces one of the greatest challenges of her life,” the appeal reads.
“The surgery, medications, investigations, and recovery costs exceed what her family can bear alone.”
For nearly two decades, Adebola has “spent years serving others and making meaningful contributions to her workplace and community,” the page states.
Now, colleagues are rallying support to give her “another chance at life.”
The campaign highlights the financial burden of kidney transplants in Nigeria, where costs for surgery, post-operative care, and lifelong immunosuppressant drugs often run into millions of naira.
