Alli-Macaulay, also known as ‘Mama Amuwo,’ represented Amuwo-Odofin State Constituency I from 2019 to 2023, during which she chaired the House Committee on Women’s Affairs, Poverty Alleviation, and Job Creation.

The lawmaker was accused of sharing COVID-19 palliatives meant for constituents as her birthday gifts in 2020.

During the #EndSARS protests, Alli-Macaulay criticized protesters in Lagos, labeling them
“hoodlums” and accusing them of drug use.

“Even as a young person, why can’t you become a designer? There is no excuse for being a hoodlum. The National Orientation Agency needs to set to work. We need to begin to orientate our young people,” she said at the time.

“They need people who can talk to them from time to time. They are high on drugs all the time, most of them.”
