The Lagos Diaspora for Hamzat 2027 has congratulated former Minister of State for Defence and ex-Lagos Senator, Musiliu Obanikoro, on his appointment as Director General of the Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat 2027 Governorship Campaign.
In a statement signed by its Director General and Convener, Ayodeji Rilwan Tinubu (ART), the group described the appointment as a fitting choice, noting that Obanikoro possesses the experience, leadership qualities, and political acumen required to steer the campaign toward success.
According to the group, Obanikoro’s extensive background in public service, grassroots mobilization, political organization, and governance has earned him a reputation as a seasoned political leader with a deep understanding of Lagos politics.
“This appointment is a classic case of a round peg in a round hole. Senator Obanikoro’s vast political experience, outstanding leadership credentials, strategic thinking, and deep understanding of Lagos politics make him exceptionally qualified for this important responsibility,” the statement read.
The group expressed confidence that Obanikoro’s leadership would strengthen the campaign structure and strategically position it for victory in the 2027 Lagos State governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Lagos Diaspora for Hamzat 2027 also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the campaign through the mobilization of Lagosians across the diaspora, pledging to leverage its global networks, resources, expertise, and international engagements to advance Hamzat’s gubernatorial ambition.
The group further prayed for wisdom, strength, and good health for Obanikoro as he assumes the role, wishing him a successful tenure as campaign Director General.
Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat currently serves as the Deputy Governor of Lagos State and is being projected by supporters as a leading contender in the state’s 2027 governorship race.
