Lagos ADP Candidate In 2019 Governorship Candidate, BOG Requests Re-Admission Into PDP
A major leading voice of opposition in Lagos State and a governorship aspirant in the 2019 gubernatorial election in the State, Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi, is requesting to be readmitted into the folds of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) BlackBox Nigeria has learnt.
BOG as fondly called had left the PDP in the build-up to the 2019 elections under uncertain circumstances to pick the Governorship ticket with the relatively new Action Democratic Party, a party founded in June 2017 by some politically concerned Nigerians who feel there should be a third force.
Though Gbadamosi became the talk of the town following his outstanding performance at the Lagos gubernatorial election debate because of his marshalled plans if elected Governor of the country’s commercial capital but his political party structure could not provide the sprint needed to gain access to the Lagos House in Alausa.
In a tweet some moments ago, BOG revealed that he would be meeting with the Lagos State PDP Executive Committee to formally request re-admission into the party.
“Tomorrow morning at 11 am, I shall be meeting with the Lagos State PDP Executive Committee to formally request re-admission into the People’s Democratic Party. I would be pleased to have you join at this August event, ” he tweeted.
Earlier in the day, BlackBox Nigeria had been privy to the message sent by Campaign Director-General of Gbadamosi in the last election, Bolaji Oshinowo stating that “due to unforeseen circumstances which is not unusual in our political climate“, their principal Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi will be officially received back into the PDP by the State Executive of the Lagos state PDP at the PDP secretariat, Adekunle Fajuyi Way, GRA, Ikeja Lagos.
It is believed that this early move is in preparation for 2023 elections which would be keenly contested by the ruling All Progressives Congress and PDP in Lagos State.
