The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Prince Adedayo Ladega, has presented bursary support to over 200 students of Ikorodu origin studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

Ladega made this known at the presentation of the Prince Adedayo Ladega Bursary Scheme, where he said the initiative was focused on supporting students and their education.

Speaking at the event, Ladega said the intervention formed part of his administration’s education initiatives under its S.E.E.D Agenda.

“Today is about our students and their future,” the chairman said.

He said the initiative was in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which recognises education and investment in young people as important areas of development.

According to him, the bursary scheme builds on other education interventions by the local government, including the provision of GCE and JAMB forms, free GCE and JAMB tutorials, bursary support and the ongoing construction of a six-classroom block at Anglican Primary School.

The chairman urged the beneficiaries to remain focused on their studies and make the most of the opportunity.

“To our beneficiaries, remain focused, take your studies seriously and make the most of this opportunity,” Ladega said.

“We will continue to do our part, and we expect you to do yours.”

Ladega also thanked parents, stakeholders and staff for their support and congratulated the beneficiaries of the bursary scheme.

He said the local government would continue to invest in young people and support education in Ikorodu.
