Kaduna State Shortlists 27,639 Teachers For Oral Interview
In its bid to recruit 25,000 teachers for Public Primary Schools, the Kaduna State Universal Basic Eduction Board has shortlisted 27,639 applicants for oral interview.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the shortlisted candidates represent 64.27% of the total applicants who sat for the Aptitude Test conducted by the State on December 20th, 2017.
Names of the shortlisted applicants was contained in the list pasted on SUBEB’s Headquarters in Kaduna on late Saturday. It indicated that the oral interview would start on January 24th at the Local Government Education Authority offices in all LGAs in the State.
The list was signed by the Executive Chairman of the Board, Mallam Nasiru Umar. It also added that successful applicants are to attend the interview in their respective Local Government Areas while non Kaduna resident candidates would be interviewed at Centres nearest to them.
The Board also advised the applicants to check their names at the notice board of the Education Secretaries in the 23 LGAs as well as SUBEB headquarters.
According to NAN, the recruitment is being conducted to replace the 21,780 Primary School Teachers recently sacked for allegedly failing competency test organised by the State Government in mid 2017.
The sack by the State Government generated a reaction from the Nigeria Union of Teachers which embarked on strike on January 8th. The strike was later called off 10 days into the labour action when the State Government opened a second chance window for the sacked teachers to reapply under SUBEB’s continuous recruitment exercise.
