Balarabe Abbas, a ministerial nominee from Kaduna State, has collapsed during screening on Wednesday.
Balarabe, whose name had earlier been sent by President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu along with two others to the Senate on Tuesday, was to replace the former governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, who was declined confirmation.
He had spoken for a few minutes during his screening before falling to the floor as some lawmakers rushing to his aid.
It was gathered that he was the second nominee to be screened and a Senator Ishaku Abbo, the lawmaker representing Adamawa North, personally rushed him to the National Assembly Clinic to seek for medical attention.
Also, it was learnt that a wheel chair was immediately rushed to the Chamber as he could not be revived to walk by himself.
