Kaduna Is Fulfilling APC’s Mass Sack Mission- Fayose, We Are Only Replacing Unqualified Workers, El-Rufai Fires Back
Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose has weighed in on the plan of mass sack of teachers by Kaduna State Government, describing the development as a mission of the ruling All Progressive Congress.
The Governor in a tweet alerted Nigerians about the plot to retrench thousands of workers in the State after over 21,000 teachers failed competency test and were slated for termination of appointments.
Governor Fayose said, “I’m warning Nigerians again, the agenda of the APC is to sack workers. They are sacking teachers in Kaduna and Buhari is supporting them.”
In response, Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai reacted that his government was not sacking workers, but only replacing unqualified teachers who failed competency test. He disclosed that the incompetent ones are being replaced.
“Your Excellency Sir, We are not sacking teachers in Kaduna. Rather, we are replacing unqualified people who are unfit to be called teachers to save the future of the next generation,” he said.
El-Rufai also added that the State Universal Basic Education Board has been receiving applications from intending teachers. As at Tuesday November 14th, over 23,000 applicants have shown interests.
Dissatisfied with the response, Governor Fayose advised that the teachers should be enrolled for training and not sacked out rightly as been planned by Kaduna State Government.
