#Justice4Adijat: Ikorodu NBA teams up with Femi Falana, SOB over police murdered schoolgirl
The Ikorodu branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has taken on a legal battle against the police following the shooting of a schoolgirl in Adamo area of the community.
You will recall that BlackBox Nigeria reported the issue of an innocent schoolgirl who was killed by bullets from the gun of a careless officer who was interrogating a road user alongside his colleagues.

The victim, 17-year-old Adijat Shakiru who was a secondary school student died from the gunshot.
NBA Ikorodu branch have now gotten 20 lawyers who have volunteered to provide free legal services to the family of the late Adijay and other victims of shooting during the incident.

The Ikorodu NBA BlackBox Nigeria has learnt will also be teaming with the office of respected human right lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN in seeking justice for the family of the bereaved.
The branch further revealed that they will also be collaborating with the office of the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and member representing Ikorodu Constituency 1, Sanai ‘SOB’ Agunbiade who had earlier offered to lead the legal team that will be prosecuting the police.

The Nigerian Police has earlier disclosed that the offending officer, Sergeant Mudi Emmanuel is currently being detained while investigations continue.
According to the Ikorodu branch of the NBA, the Vice Chairman of the Branch; Mrs. Gloria Cassius who heads the NBA Ikorodu branch Human Rights committee will lead the group that will interface with the police to ensure proper investigation and to seek compensation for the victims while Mrs. Odunola Jegede; Chairperson of the Legal Aid and Probono Committee of the branch will lead the group that will hold watching brief during the trial of the case.
The NBA met yesterday, Monday, 25th March, 2019, to discuss strategies to help the families and victims of shooting.
