By Fear gripped Akure community as explosive Devices suspected to be bomb that are being transported to the northern part of the country have exploded along Akure-Owo highway in Ondo state, bbn360 has gathered.
The blast that caused apprehension among most residents of Akure, Obaile, Eleyowo, Iluabo, Osi and environs in Ondo state, destroyed a popular church beside road, “Possibility Church”, where some people were said to have been feared killed.
The incident which happened less than a kilometre to Akure Airport, affected many residents of Eleyowo community, destroying completely a church and a school in the area.Many people who lived with in the the church premises were said to be injured while some were rescued by the people of the community
Confirming the incident,the school with boarding facilities was destroyed beyond repair with roofs of all the buildings blown off.
The spot at which the the bomb or blast happened cut off the road, hindering vehicular movement. While those at the Mission home of that church have been rushed to the federal medical centre, Owo.
Eyewitnesses said that “Some people are on danger list now, while some have gone (feared dead); the sound (of the blast) woke everybody around 1:00am today, God should just have mercy o.”
