The Federal Government has declared that the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos will be closed for repairs from Saturday night to Sunday night.

The closure is part of the preparations for the comprehensive rehabilitation works on the bridge, which is expected to begin soon.

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mrs Olukorede Kesha, said in a statement that the Ministry would fix the most critical sections of the bridge along the Adeniji bound carriageway on Sunday.

She therefore urged motorists to obey the traffic rules and follow the diversions as directed by the traffic management officials.

She also advised motorists to use alternative routes where possible during the period of the repairs, as the Adeniji bound of the bridge will be inaccessible from Saturday, October 21, to Sunday, October 22, at midnight.
