Aisha Yesufu, a Nigerian socio-political activist, has warned of a stronger dissent than the 2020 nationwide protest, named ‘End SARS’.
Recall that the EndSARS protest is a social movement that gathered a plethora of mass protests against police brutality in Nigeria.
The slogan called for the disbanding of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a notorious unit of the Nigeria Police.
Aisha, who was one of the activists at the forefront of the protest, said that Nigerians might just be caught unaware of what is coming.
She explained that there is a simmering rage within the land which is being fueled by the impunity and brazenness of the corrupt politicians and rulers who have rigged their way into power.
“Nobody saw the #EndSARS protest coming. Nobody will see the next uprising coming,” she said on X.
“Sadly, it might end up being violent. There is a simmering anger fueled by the impunity and brazenness of the corrupt politicians and rulers who have rigged their way into power. Nobody will be spared.”
Aisha is a active politician working with the Labour Party’s Peter Obi especially during the peak of the 2023 general elections.
