A viral video narrating a disappointing experience at a flower garden and waterpark in Ilorin South has sparked heated debate online, with other visitors now coming forward to share contrasting accounts.
In the original video, Oyenikee claimed she and her friend visited the park expecting a fully functional water slide, only to find staff pouring water with buckets to keep it running.
The clip quickly drew criticism and jokes online.
However, new comments under the post tell a different story.
Several commenters said their experience was completely different.
@_olola_de wrote: “Honestly my experience there was quite different, I enjoyed my time there, going down the slide was the highlight of it, the slide had water flowing. Im shocked hearing about your experience, so sorry you went through that.”
@Princessthebarber added: “I have been there too and honestly I enjoyed it and everything was working fine, sorry for your experience tho”
The discussion took another turn when @Abdulrazaq claimed the slide was not supposed to be in use that day.
“I was at the spot five days ago… I was clearly told that the engine had issues and was currently being fixed. So, for now… the waterslide isn’t open to the public,” he stated.
He further alleged that “The girl in question, who happens to know the lifeguard, used the opportunity to get on the slide anyway,” and called for the lifeguard to be “sacked.”
That claim drew pushback. @Makizee. responded: “if the machine wasn’t working, what the management should say is that the water slide is down, not to do this rubbish they did… why is the onus of not going on a non functional slide on the paying customer and not the management”
Other users pointed to management and communication as the core issue.
@Abdulmujeeb Aremu noted: “Two individuals can go on different days and have an entirely different experience, the main concern should be the inconsistency of service by the park and not necessarily assuming the influencers came to lie.”
