“This marks the 7th AGM of the PPCA, this shows that we are growing as an association. I must first thank everyone for the privilege you bestowed on me and the entire executive members to manage the affairs of the PPCA in the last 12 months, your supports have been wonderful”

Paper presentation at regular monthly meetings and meeting rotations among others were according to him, some of the innovations the association explored.

“The 2nd Annual Seminar of the PPCA was a huge success and well commended. This time we took our advocacy to the education sector by emphasizing the role of HR in schools’ management and this informed on our seminar theme ‘Managing the 21st Century Teachers: The Application of HR Metrix’ as was well attended with over 220 participants in attendance.”

The outgoing chairman did not fail to state some of the challenges that reared its head in the year under review when he expressed that the drop in the number of members attending its monthly meeting is a serious cause for worries and the drastic drop of the timely payment of membership dues was another bitter pill the association had to swallow in 2018.

“Some of these challenges are meeting attendance, the turnout at meetings still remain unimpressive despite various interventions aimed at stimulating members’ attendance, his remain an issues for concern”

“Subscription is the heart of any non-profit making association like ours and the only means through which we can impact on our members and contribute to societal development. The challenge here is that only few members pay subscription and we usually resort to donations to execute programme and events of the PPCA.  The truth is, if we all pay our subscriptions, donations will just be a bonus and not our means to survive as association.”

On way forward, he urged members to be committed in order to move the PPCA forward as commitment will bring about huge meeting attendance, meeting of financial obligations and full commitment to responsibilities.
