2023 seems to be starting on a pretty good note for Fawas Aina, one of the members of internet sensation group, Ikorodu Bois, after he earned a lead role in an upcoming movie from the stable of award-winning filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan.
The movie titled ‘Ijogbon’, as announced by Afolayan in an Instagram post on Wednesday, will be produced by KAP Motion Pictures in partnership with movie streaming platform, Netflix.
The movie tells the story of four teenagers from a rural village, who stumbled on a bag full of diamonds and concealed it, which later caused them to regret.
The 15-year-old Fawaz will play the lead role in the much anticipated movie. Interestingly, this is the second time the teenager will get a feature in a Kunle Afolayan movie.
He made his debut Afolayan’s ‘Anikulapo’ movie, alongside another member of the group, Malik Sanni. They both played the role of Adigun and Babarinsa, respectively, as apprentices of Kunle ‘Saro’ Remi.
Over the years, the Ikorodu Bois which – comprises of Babatunde Sanni, Muiz Sanni, Malik Sanni, and their cousin, Fawas Aina – has been known for their recreation and mimics of top movie and music videos.
The group, which started in 2017, has gotten recognition from several stars, including Hollywood producers, Russo brothers, who invited them to the premiere of the movie, Extraction 2. Also, US actor and rapper Will Smith from the ‘Bad Boys Forever’ movie and Alvaro Morte, who played the role of Professor in the series ‘Money Heist’ have acknowledged the group.
