An Ikeja Electric Plc worker reportedly escaped death after suffering an electric shock while carrying out repairs on a power pole around Gbagada Bus Stop in Lagos State.

A video circulating on social media on Thursday showed two colleagues struggling to rescue the worker, who appeared to be trapped on a ladder after the incident.

The worker was seen moving his arms and body while his colleagues worked to bring him down, as anxious residents and passers-by gathered at the scene.

An eyewitness, speaking in the video, said the worker was alive after the shock, although his exact medical condition was not immediately known.

“This is Gbagada Bus Stop. This incident just happened now. Light just shocked the guy. Now they’re trying to bring him down; he’s not dead,” the eyewitness said.

Ikeja Electric had not issued an official statement on the incident or the worker’s condition as of the time of filing this report.
