Ijede Local Council Development Area in Lagos State has distributed exercise books and school uniforms to 125 indigent pupils drawn from public primary schools in the area.
Speaking at the presentation of the items at the council secretariat on Tuesday, September 21, the Council Chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba said the gesture was part of her administration’s effort to promote education and alleviate the burden of getting educational materials.
“The future of Ijede LCDA depends on our children. This is why our administration considers their education a topmost priority,” she said.
She stated that under her leadership, the council would continue to execute projects and initiatives that would support the quest for academic excellence.
The selected schools include Anwar Ul Islam Primary School, Anglican Primary School, Methodist Primary school, Oke Eletu; and Community Primary School, Abule Eko.
