Ijede LCDA Distributes 2,500 Food Palliatives To Residents

In a heartwarming display of compassion and community solidarity, the fourth installment of the Ijede ’Tunrayo Ayo Ni Temi food support program unfolded at the council secretariat, bringing relief to over 2,500 residents of the Ijede Local Council Development Area.

The event, which took place on Monday, saw the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, connecting with the community on a personal level.

During her address, she reiterated the program’s purpose – to offer essential food supplies to the constituents in need, particularly the elderly and less privileged.

Introduced by the Hon. Motunrayo-led administration, this quarterly initiative takes on renewed significance in the face of recent economic challenges.

Gbadebo-Alogba stated, “The essence of governance lies in making ordinary citizens’ lives more manageable through policies and programs that enhance their well-being. Today, we affirm this commitment.”

The event witnessed a heartwarming scene as thousands of Ijede residents flocked to the Council Secretariat with gratitude, embracing the relief packages.

These packages, meticulously prepared, contained staples such as Rice, Beans, Garri, Groundnut Oil, Sugar, Salt, and more, underscoring the Council’s commitment to nourishing the community.

Nurat Temitope Durojaiye, Chief Press Secretary of Ijede LCDA, captured the sentiment of the day, as residents received the palliatives with spirits brimming with gratitude.

The occasion showcased a harmonious blend of community support, government dedication, and human compassion, all converging to alleviate the challenges faced by the most vulnerable.

As the sun set on the distribution event, it left behind a community stronger in unity, a local government reaffirming its commitment to welfare, and countless hearts filled with the warmth of compassion.
