Igbos Celebrate 50 Years Since Declaration Of Biafra, On Stay Home Order Today

The Igbos are celebrating their 50th Anniversary since the Biafra strruggle started. It all began in May 20th, 1967 and all have been instructed to stay at home in order to mark it as their own Democracy Day.

BlackBox Nigeria gathere that the Igbos were asked to stay out of work today to commemorate the anniversary of the Civil War that broke out 50 years ago, killing many of the region’s heroes.

Flags and memes have since been trending on social media as followers have been using the flags to solidarised with bereaved families.

As at the time of filing this report, BBN is yet to ascertain if the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu who is currently on bail will be addressing his followers to celebrate the 50th anniversary. According to the bail condition granted by Justice Binta Nyako of Abuja High Court, Kanu is not expected to be in gathering of more than 10 people.

Will he defy this condition and address a crowd today?
