From feeding only 300 people when it commenced October 2016, the iCare Foodbank, an initiative of Rep. Babajimi Benson representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency has now fed about 31,500 families.

 At the food item distribution for beneficiaries for February 2022, which was held on Saturday, at his constituency office at Plot 48, Ebute-Igbogbo road, Solebo, the iCare Foundation said it has so far fed 31,500 vulnerable members of Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

“Today (February 19, 2022), iCare Foodbank, an initiative of Rep. Babajimi Benson held its February 2022 edition of Apo Aanu distribution. 

 

“The programme which is aimed at eliminating hunger has in the last 6 years fed over 31,500 vulnerable households in Ikorodu Federal Constituency,” it shared in the report of activities of the Foodbank with participants at the event.

Identified as the first functional food bank in Lagos State, iCare Foodbank was designed to cater for the Elderly, the Widows, the Needy and the Vulnerable in our Community. Each Apo Aanu bag contains non-perishable food items that can feed at least four vulnerable members of a family. 

 

The programme in its 6th year running strives to ensure constituents of Ikorodu Federal constituency do not go hungry by providing a balance of all the food groups that provide nutritional value for the bodies.
