“I know a lot of you have been waiting to hear from me about the issue that happened,” he began, addressing his fans. “I have been quiet all this time due to my mental health. I attempted suicide four times, just wanted to end everything, because all these things that happened are still a shock to me. After all the years of sacrifice.”
Oduduru, who had been one of Nigeria’s brightest track and field talents, shared that the impact of the doping ban was far more than just a professional setback. He described the emotional turmoil he experienced, admitting that the weight of the ban pushed him to the brink.

According to the information gathered by BlackBox Nigeria, the athlete was banned for six years by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) in a 3-man committee disciplinary tribunal set up to hear his case. The verdict, setting up his 6 years ban was given on 12 October, 2023 after found guilty of two Anti-doping violations.
