Nigerian musician, Teniola Apata better known as Teni has come under fire on the social media platform, X after a video of her idolizing alleged smuggler, IB Dende surfaced online.
In the video, Teni was seen on a plane with the businessman, showering him with praises, prompting netizens to question why she would worship someone with alleged criminal ties.
This intensified following recent allegations against IB Dende for smuggling and drug running, supported by evidence presented by journalist Fisayo Soyombo, but the businessman hasn’t been convicted.
Responding on her X platform, Teni bragged by stating “I got 20 kids in school, 10 private university students, 3 in Babcock, 3 in C.U, 3 in Reedemers and 1 in AUN,
10 kids in private secondary schools,
3 in the east, 3 in Lagos, and 1 in Jos.
all in boarding school. I pay and take care of their fees, and I’m active in their lives.
what have you done ???? as a citizen of this country “.
She also defended her relationship with IB Dende, stating that she had no knowledge of any criminal activities associated with him and emphasizing her support for law enforcement to take appropriate action.
Netizens were disappointed by Teni’s actions, as expressed by some of her fans who questioned whether idolizing exposed criminals was justifiable and urged her to reconsider her actions.
