King Wasiu Ayinde has revealed that he was the brain behind the establishment of Fuji Musicians Association (FUMAN).

He made the revelation about the establishment of the body that embodied Fuji musicians worldwide during a recent interview.

Speaking the interview, K1 emphasized that Fuji Musicians Association (FUMAN) was born out of permission given by Late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.

“After I was crowned as king of Fuji at NTA Ibadan, I sought Barrister’s permission before forming FUMAN. He gave me his full support and saw the idea as a worthy one,” KWAM 1 stated.

The Fuji king went on to describe how he led efforts to organize the genre, taking it beyond informal performances to a structured cultural movement.

This included registering FUMAN and drafting its constitution with the help of constitution drafting committee which comprises Muyideen Asekun, Waheed Akangbe, Kolotiti and his personal secretary in the presence of his lawyer.

This revelation shows him as not only a custodian of Barrister’s legacy but also a key figure in the evolution of Fuji music from street culture to an organized, respected art form.

He called on critics to understand the weight of his contributions, made not out of rebellion but deep reverence.

“People should stop misinterpreting my actions. Everything I’ve done for Fuji music has been in honor of Barrister and the foundation he laid,” he added.
