On late hour of Wednesday, Nigerians expressed dissatisfaction over the banking services of Opay– denial to monies in bank account, a situation which caught many unguarded and sparked a lot of reactions from users.

The upgrade in the system service, as claimed, shut all access to the financial activities of the institution which left many customers stranded.

However, Opay had issued a notice to its customers regarding an impending service disruption due to ongoing upgrades by third-party providers.

Confirming this in a statement posted on its official Facebook page in the late hours of Wednesday the financial institution informed customers that the upgrades to the third-party system may lead to challenges in completing transactions via the Opay Card, the App, and other channels.

“We would like to inform you that our third-party providers are currently upgrading their system.

“During this period, you may experience challenges completing transactions via the Card, the App, and other channels”, the statement reads.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause”, it added.

While specific details about the duration and extent of the service disruption were not provided in the notice, Opay apologized to customers and assured that the upgrades are necessary to enhance the reliability and efficiency of their systems.
