Instead of the common lavishness accustomed to people in government circle, the Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr Solomon Sannu Bonu who added another year on June 16, 2020, did the unusual by using the opportunity to provide shelter for a widow with five children in Badagry area of Lagos State.

The SA on Tourism, Arts and Culture, in an interview opined that he decided to help the woman identified as Alhaja Dauda alias Iya Onicement and her five children living inside a shop to build a three bedroom flat, instead of throwing a birthday party, as an act of contributing to the well-being of humanity.

“When I saw Alhaja Dauda also known as iya onicement and five children sleeping in a shop, I was moved to tears because they are not comfortable. I said to myself that I have to do everything possible within my reach to make them sleep comfortably, ” he said in an interview accessed by BlackBox Nigeria

The three-bedroom apartment that has been roofed and almost completed has changed the fortune of the widow, an act Mr Solomon Sannu Bonu said made him a fulfilled man on his birthday.

“I decided to change their one shop to a three bedroom apartment for convenience sake. To God be the glory, I was with the woman at the site today (Tuesday), monitoring the roofing of the house. I am happy today because I am able to upgrade a family of six from living inside a shop to living in a comfortable apartment, ” he said.

The Special Adviser to the Governor expressed gratitude to political leaders, senior colleagues, friends, well wishers who sent birthday wishes and messages, while thanking Governor Sanwo-Olu for the opportunity to serve.
