Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba declares open the 5th Legislative Assembly In Ijede LCDA
The newly elected Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area, Honourable Moturayo Gbadegbo-Alogba has sworn in new councillors for the 5th Legislative Assembly in Ijede LCDA.
During the proclamation of the new legislative house, the Executive Chairman urged the Councilors to discharge their duties with a sense of maturity and mutual understanding with the Executives.
The Executive Chairman sworn-in elected councillors representing the four (4) wards within the Local Council Development Areas.
While congratulating councillors, she emphasised that the success at the polls is a call to service and they have to therefore start on their feet running as they take up the task of governance.
The Chairman in her speech mentioned that the people of Ijede LCDA have reposed great confidence in their administration and the overriding passion and interest of every councillor should be to push forward meaningful motions and bye-laws that will be of benefit to the people and must look inward to make laws that will uplift the Council Area.
“It is, therefore, my charge that as we are inaugurated today, we start to work in the consciousness that the public office is held in trust that must not be abused”, she said.
During the proclamation exercise, the legislative positions to steer the activities of the Chamber was conducted constitutionally and democratically.
Hon. Kehinde Fadeyi of Ward D emerged the Leader of the house, Hon. Basirat Kehinde of Ward A the Deputy Leader, Hon. Shitta Akeem of Ward B Majority Leader while Nurudeen Saka of Ward C became the Chief Whip.
The Program was well attended by all the relevant stakeholders within Ijede LCDA, amongst which are, the APC Apex Leaders, Alajede-in-Council, Obateru-in-Council, Council of Baales, Party Chairman and Leaders, CDC Chairman, Grand Chief Imam of Ijede LCDA, CAN Representatives, Management Staff of Ijede LCDA and the members of the Press.
