Gypsy King Fury Knocks Out Wilder In 7th Round, Becomes New Heavyweight Champion
England’s Tyson Fury moments ago dethroned Deontay Wilder as the World Heavyweight Champion after knocking him out in the 7th round.
The referee of the match and the corner made the decision to end the match at about 1mins 39secs of the 7th round. It was learnt that the decision was as a result of Wilder’s inability to balance and complete the fight after his left ear was ripped open by Fury.
Wilder started having problems during the 2nd round when a Fury’s right hand caught up with him and landed on the floor. The jab caught open his left ear and affected Wilder’s balance. One of the match’s commentator noted that Wilder’s eardrum might have been damaged by that punch which in turn affected his legs which wobbled for the rest of the match.
Fury again knocked down Wilder during the 6th round but the match continued until the 7th round when the referee ended the match and Fury was announced the winner by Technical Knock Out, the 30th of his career.
The new WBC Heavyweight Champion of the world, Tyson Fury will now hold on to the title until a rematch is fixed as BlackBox Nigeria gathered that there exist a clause for the loser to contest the match again.
