Former LASU Student Leaders Throw Support Behind Fellow Comrades Now Lawmaker In Lagos Assembly

 

It was a moment to reminisce,  chant union songs and discuss politics at the Lagos State Assembly Complex, when the leadership of the Past Union Leaders of the Lagos State University Students Union ably led by  Ayodele Olatunde aka FBI (Speaker SPC 05/06) paid a courtesy and solidarity visit to the office of the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon Noheem Adams, representing Eti Osa Constituency I and Hon. Ogunkelu Sylvester aka Sketel representing Epe Constituency II and donated campaign materials ahead of the 2023 general elections.



According to Ayodele the courtesy visit to the former union leader was to present campaign souvenirs to the two Honourable members’ Campaign Organisations while pledging “ their indefatigable and unflinching support to both Honourable members of the Assembly, as they both seek a second term in office. “

In a statement made available to BlackBox Nigeria, the group urged the public to look at the antecedents of the two lawmakers in selecting them for their various offices. 

 

“The Leadership of PAST LASUSU leaders Forum hereby urges the public to vote them in, having contributed immensely to the growth and development of their respective constituencies. They promised to do more if re-elected.

“The Past Union Leaders Forum hereby reiterated its commitment to the Party, more importantly, to all candidates under the platform of Past LASUSU Leaders. The Forum promised to canvas, mobilise and sensitise the electorate on the need to vote for the Party candidates across the State, at the forthcoming general elections. “

 

While Hon Ogunkelu, popularly known as Sketel, served as Financial Secretary of the Students Union, his counterpart,  Hon Noheem Adams, who is now the Deputy Majority leader in the State Assembly, served as Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Students Movement during their days in LASU.

The Deputy Majority welcomed the team and shared some eventful activities of the then Union. He also expressed his delight in seeing comrades after a long period. His expression knew no bounds as he kept sharing memorial Aluta songs to liven up the atmosphere. He promised to give an update on his campaign movement for encompassing participation.

 

Also amongst the delegation includes, Com. Akewushola, Former Welfare Director, Com Damola, LASU SRC & Treasurer Electoral Committee, Com Osinowo Olayinka, Former Chairman Transport Committee; Com Ayo Senu, Former Lagos NANS Mobilization Officer; Com Qudus, Assistant General Secretary, LASUSU; Com Tanimola aka Who Knows, Former Welfare LASUSU Epe Campus.
