The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the scheduled general elections for next month has congratulated Nigerian Alternative R&B singer, Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems for bringing home one of the grammy awards for this year’s edition.
Tweeting via his verified handle, Tinubu said he joined Nigerians in congratulating Tems.
“I join other Nigerians in congratulating Temilade Openiyi aka Tems @temsbaby on winning the Grammy award in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category for her contribution to the hit song “Wait for U” – featuring Future and Drake,” he wrote.
Tems born, June 11, 1995, on Sunday night had bagged her first Grammy award for featuring alongside Drake on Future’s ‘Wait for You’ winning her the ‘Best Rap Melodic Performance’ category. With the award Tems becomes Nigeria’s first female artist to will the coveted award.
However, Tinubu’s congratulatory gesture has drawn reactions on Twitter, with some netizens saying the congratulatory message is half-hearted and not necessary.
