Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, aged 57 and the first lady of Akwa Ibom State has passed away following an illness.
The state commissioner for information, Ini Ememobong announced her passing in a statement issued early Friday. He shared that the first lady died peacefully on Thursday at a hospital, surrounded by her family.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, following an illness. She peacefully passed away at the hospital on September 26, 2024, in the presence of her family,” the statement read.
“The family seeks solace in the will of the Almighty and requests prayers and support from well-wishers during this difficult time. Further details will be communicated by the family as necessary. Meanwhile, they kindly ask for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.”
Governor Umo Eno expressed gratitude to all who stood by the family during this period of mourning, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to serving the state despite this personal loss.
